Tuesday night, Saluki starting linebacker Airan Reed announced he will transfer out of SIU for his final season of eligibility.

The South Medina, Tennessee product played in all 33 games the past three seasons and compiled a total of 117 tackles, 13 TFL, 1.5 sacks, three interceptions, and one defensive score.

Reed’s departure frees up a space for both junior Cody Crider and redshirt freshman Luke Giegling to play in starting roles next season.
